Reno Riverwalk District

My daughter had a regional gymnastics competition in Reno, NV back in May 2021, so we naturally decided to take in the sights while we were there. We took a 4-minute walk from our WorldMark Reno resort and went to the Riverwalk District near the Truckee River. We went mid-morning on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded.

We went to the City Plaza and checked out the Space Whale first. We saw a lot of vagrants around the "Believe" sign, so we went down to the Truckee River instead. We were able to get right down to the rushing water and put our hands in it. We checked out some carvings etched in the wall, then headed back up to the "Believe" sign, which was now clear of vagrants.

After the "Believe" sign, we walked along the river, which was lined with shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Then we went over to Wingfield Park, an island in the middle of the river. There were plenty of picnic areas, pigeons, ducks and beautiful scenery to take in. There was also a huge butterfly structure that would spin around when birds landed on it. (We featured it in the YouTube video attached to this blog.)

Then, of course, at night we had to see the lights and the famous Reno sign!
